North East Saskatchewan offers a special adventure for any outdoor enthusiast. There are plenty of wild flowers, rare plants and berries. This area is also great for bird watching, star gazing and relaxing in complete silence. From an action packed snowmobile adventure to a relaxing camping and fishing trip, North East Saskatchewan has it all!

North East Saskatchewan is naturally beautiful and many of the parks located within the region provide an amazing getaway into the wilderness.

 

Hunting

North East Saskatchewan is a common destination for hunting. This area of Saskatchewan attracts avid hunters from all over North America. There are outfitters in the area that would accommodate any hunting vacation. The most commonly hunted game in North East Saskatchewan is: moose, elk, whitetail deer, bear and other smaller animals.

 

Winter RecreationSnowmobilers from all over Saskatchewan know that some of the best snow in the province falls around the North East Region of Saskatchewan. In fact, it has more than a dozen snowmobile clubs in the region boasting over 1500km of groomed trails. It also is known for the Trans Canadian snowmobile trail to go through and around Candle Lake, Carrot River, Nipawin and Hudson Bay. Fishing & Water Sports

North East Saskatchewan is home to many clear water lakes, rivers and streams. There are numerous lakes in the area. Walleye, Perch, Trout and Jack Fish are commonly caught in North East Saskatchewan. Some locations for fishing include:

Fishing around Hudson Bay, Sk:McBride Lake, Isbister Lake, Fir River, Armit River, Peepaw Lake, Parr Hill Lake, Saginas Lake, Smallfish Lake, Spirit Lake, Townsend Lake, Tout Pond, Woody Lake and Culldelsac Lake

Fishing around Nipawin, Sk:
Tobin Lake located 33 kms North East of Nipawin on Highway #255. This is a well-known fishing destination, and holds a World Walleye Record. Tobin Lake attracts avid fisherman from all over North America. Codette Lake is also close to Nipawin and offers great fishing.

Camping
Greenwater Lake Provincial Park
located 16 km South of Chelan, 38 km North of Kelvington, near Porcupine Plain. This year round park offers various outdoor activities and accommodations, no matter the season.

Nipawin & District Regional Park
is located 1 km North West of Nipawin. It is open from May till October. This park offers camping, golf, fishing, boat rentals, mini golf, and nature trails.

Sturgis & District Regional Park
is located on the North side of Sturgis and is open from May to October each year. The park offers camping sites, nature trails, campground and fishing. All campsites are along the banks of the Assiniboine River.

Kipabiskau Regional Park
is located 45 kms South West of Tisdale off Hwy # 35. The park is open from May to September and is located along Kipabiskau Lake. This is primarily a camping destination, the park offers ball diamonds, playgrounds and a beach.

Lady Lake Regional Park
is located 6.5 kms North of Preeceville. The park is open from May to September and offers camping, fishing and swimming.

Wapiti Valley Regional Park
located 15 km North of Gronlid on Highway 6, on the South slope of the Saskatchewan River. Also a four season camp, this park offers a ski hill in the winter, and camping in the summer months.

Wildcat Hills Provincial Park
located 40km North of Hudson Bay, includes approximately 21,752 hectares of wilderness. There are currently no facilities available at the park, however plans of expansion into wilderness trails will occur in the near future.

Hudson Bay Regional Park
includes Ruby Lake, Dagg Creek, Greenbush River and Saginas Lake Recreation sites. Open May-September, this park system includes many camping sites, golf course, fishing and many ball diamonds.

Pasquia Regional Park
is located 10 kms South of Carrot River. The park is open from May-October and includes a golf course, mini golf, camping and swimming. This park also has a historical aspect and offers walking trails.
