North East Saskatchewan is a common destination for hunting. This area of Saskatchewan attracts avid hunters from all over North America. There are outfitters in the area that would accommodate any hunting vacation. The most commonly hunted game in North East Saskatchewan is: moose, elk, whitetail deer, bear and other smaller animals.
Snowmobilers from all over Saskatchewan know that some of the best snow in the province falls around the North East Region of Saskatchewan. In fact, it has more than a dozen snowmobile clubs in the region boasting over 1500km of groomed trails. It also is known for the Trans Canadian snowmobile trail to go through and around Candle Lake, Carrot River, Nipawin and Hudson Bay. North East Saskatchewan is home to many clear water lakes, rivers and streams. There are numerous lakes in the area. Walleye, Perch, Trout and Jack Fish are commonly caught in North East Saskatchewan. Some locations for fishing include:
Fishing around Hudson Bay, Sk:McBride Lake, Isbister Lake, Fir River, Armit River, Peepaw Lake, Parr Hill Lake, Saginas Lake, Smallfish Lake, Spirit Lake, Townsend Lake, Tout Pond, Woody Lake and Culldelsac Lake
Fishing around Nipawin, Sk:
Tobin Lake located 33 kms North East of Nipawin on Highway #255. This is a well-known fishing destination, and holds a World Walleye Record. Tobin Lake attracts avid fisherman from all over North America. Codette Lake is also close to Nipawin and offers great fishing.
