The North East Enterprise Region is rich in natural resources. The region includes a vast amount of Provincial Forestry and thousands of acres of agricultural farmland. The forestry in North East Saskatchewan contributes to the local manufacturing and tourism sectors.

The North East Enterprise Region has a successful Agricultural sector. There are various value-added Ag projects in our region, both currently operating and planned for the future. The region offers a unique combination of low-cost production, low-cost feed and hay crops, plenty of water and expanding global market opportunities.

Saskatchewan
The discovery of anomalous thicknesses of coal in the Hudson Bay area of North East Enterprise Region in the spring of 2008 ignited an unprecedented staking rush for coal in Saskatchewan. Unlike most other coal deposits in the province, which are relatively thin and more regionally extensive, the Hudson Bay area coal deposits are more localized and have far greater thicknesses of up to 100 meters.
